Here are some of the common questions we get asked.

This section should help you decide if we can provide you with the kind of service you are looking for.

General

What kind of photography services do you provide?

All of our work is client based which, being based in South Florida especially, means we’ve done a photoshoot of anything you can think of and a lot of things you probably can’t think of. I’ve shot everything from modeling portfolios to maternity, quinceañeras to weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, performers, business, couples, boudoir, automotive, sports, products and more!

Can I do different kinds of photoshoots in one day?

It’s not very often people will do a professional photoshoot nowadays, so it makes sense you would want to get the most out of it and I encourage it! Are you coming in for a family shoot, but you need business headshots? No problem. Even better: Do you want business headshots, but also want to do a boudoir set for your significant other? Not only can you do that, but we can even change the make up and hairstyle from subtle to sexy!

How long is my session?

Our packages do have time limits, but they are more of a formality. The amount that you spend on your images depends on how many final retouched images you order, not on the time it took to create them. With experience comes the ability to be efficient in what you do. We have been doing photography for over 16 years and in this time we have learned to provide the client with superb quality in a short period of time. There have been times that we have provided enough variety for a client to choose the Premium Package in less than 30 minutes. Some shoots take longer and there’s nothing wrong with that, but we typically don’t need more than an hour to come up with enough variety for your needs.

Are you going to help me pose?

When we meet with a client for the first time the conversation almost always starts with them saying “I’ve never done this, before”, “I don’t know what I’m doing”, “Are you going to help me?” and the answer is YES. I would say that 99% of my clientele are normal everyday people that don’t have much experience in front of the camera. Not only that, but from my experience everyone needs direction from the photographer. Even if you are a seasoned model you can’t tell exactly how it looks through the camera. It’s all about team work!

What outfits should I bring?

This is really a case by case decision, but in general it’s always good to bring a variety of different outfits. Once you arrive we will advise you on what we think will look best with our backgrounds. We recommend bringing between 4-6 outfits. We might not be able to shoot them all, but we can decide together which are your favorites and which will look best on a certain color background. With our years of experience we have been able to see how some outfits photograph better on certain background colors and lighting set ups.

What should I do with my hair and make up?

If you are having your hair and make up done by one of our professional stylists please make sure you come with NO make up on your face and hair clean and DRY. Wet hair will cut into photoshoot time. If you are doing your own hair and make up please make sure it is done before your shoot time. I suggest adding a little more than you would normally as the lighting will wash it out.

When do I get to see the images from the shoot?

As soon as we are done with the photoshoot we review the images. We will sit with you, and through a process of narrowing down, give our expert advice on which images will work best for what you are using them for. Everyone is their own worst critic so it’s always helpful to have a second set of eyes help you decide which images are the best.

When will I receive my final images?

Time frames are always varying depending on the amount of work load we currently have as we handle the files on a first come first serve basis. Receiving your final images could take up to 2 weeks for portrait shoots and 2-3 months for larger shoots such as weddings, quinces. etc.

Do I get all of the images from the photoshoot?

While all of our packages include retouched image(s) and the ability to purchase additional retouched images on top of what the package provides, only the Premium Package includes ALL of the images from the photoshoot.

Retouching

What does retouching mean?

Retouching is also referred to as airbrushing, editing, or photoshopping. It is the magic that happens behind the scenes after the image is taken.

What can be adjusted with retouching?

Common things that we correct with retouching are:

  • Blemishes
  • Scars
  • Stray Hairs
  • Whiten Teeth
  • Bags and circles under the eyes
  • Body/Face Thinning (or plumping if you prefer)
  • Wrinkles
  • Crows Feet
  • Adjust clothing like ties, jackets, dresses, etc.
  • Tattoo Removal (depending on size/placement)
Can you swap my face or change the background?

We like to keep our retouching very natural and realistic. It is possible, but with swapping faces, changing backgrounds, and anything else we would deem extreme retouching it depends on how the image was taken and it would incur an additional fee to do these things. If your intent is to do a wild shoot that involves changing the background we love that and are very capable. Just let us know before hand so we can provide the proper quote.

Do you do revisions?

We provide our client’s images with the amount of editing that most deem just right, but everyone has their own preference on the amount of retouching they may want. If there are any other corrections that you feel need to be made (too much retouching, not enough retouching, etc.) we will make the necessary revisions and get your images back to you ASAP. So please don’t be shy! We encourage our clients to let us know down to the smallest detail if there is any way we can make them the happiest they can be with their images. If there are any particular corrections you want made that seem out of the norm just discuss it with you photographer on the day….most of the time it’s a easy fix that we do for everyone anyway.

What if I don't want retouching?

All of our packages include retouched image(s). The camera brings out details that we can’t see with our own eyes. We don’t edit the images to change the way you look, but rather to bring the real you back and remove any distractions. Think about it this way: Even super models have their images edited.

Who does the retouching?

We are proud to say that everything we do is 100% in house. Damarys is the Photoshop Wizard out of the duo and she provides, what we like to call, hand crafted photo editing. Each blemish, scar, and stray hair is meticulously removed at near pixel level.

What program do you use to retouch images?

We use only the latest versions of Adobe Creative Cloud applications on current model 27″ Apple iMacs to sort and fine tune our images. Bridge to review images with clients and pick the best ones. Photoshop to edit the details. Not just a filter or minor corrections, when we say retouched that means that it has been through a fine tooth comb in Photoshop and made the best that it can be!

These are just some of the most common questions we get asked. If you have any other questions that are not answered here please feel free to reach out to us and we will be happy to help you!
